Recounting relapse and contintuing ill health since arriving in Bordeaux; discussing lack of entertainment during Carnaval; reminiscing about an Italian actor, Francisque, and his excellent troupe; telling a story of the loss of the building in which the troupe played, in a fire started by an errant firework during a production of Le festin de pierre; condemning the hypocrisy of the lower aristocracy; writing that he will soon leave Bordeaux; indicating that the reply should be sent regardless of the move, and that it will be forwarded to Montauban, where he will break his journey.
