Writing that she has seen the son of [Louis-François, comte d'Aubigné and his wife, Henriette-Marguerite Le Breton de Villandry, comtesse d'Aubigné], of whom the Archbishop is very fond; commenting that the child is lovely, and that he resembles the Villandry family; criticizing the Archbishop's brother [either Urbain d'Aubigné or Louis d'Aubigné, marquis de Tigny and the child's grandfather] for not coming to see the child "en famille"; recounting that M. le duc de Noailles will continue to work for their affairs with regard to the new financial system; lamenting her economic straits and the state of the house [at Saint-Cyr]; discussing the importance of setting practical limits to charity; hoping for news of his safe arrival at Gaillon; expressing her unhappiness, in spite of her good health.
