Summary
Explaining that she has enclosed a letter written by a former student at St Cir [Saint-Cyr] who is now a Carmelite, and that she gives him no instructions regarding the letter, instead relying on him to act "par raison"; recounting that she has had a letter from [Henriette Marguerite le Breton de Villandry,] comtesse d'Aubigne,́ regarding her pregnancy; discussing the care of the baby at Villandry; writing that M. le duc de Noailles [Adrien-Maurice de Noailles] helps her and the school at St Cir [Saint-Cyr] as much as he is able; recounting that she has had no news from England and that she is praying for him [the recipient of the letter] and that she understands that he is only motivated to serve his King; relating that she has reason to believe that M. le C[ardin]al de Noailles [Louis-Antoine de Noailles] wishes her to ask for a favor, but that she does not want to because she believes that she should be of the same opinion as the King; writing that she had a visit from M. d'Ayen [possibly Louis de Noailles, then two years of age].
