Summary
Responding to a question concerning "who bought from the 1935 and 1937 exhibitions" saying "You have stumped me now, because all my books are stored in Warminster...Also all my own private collection of your watercolours I took out of their frames when the bombing was on and sent these also to Warminster;" replying "No, the 'Downs, Matravers' hasn't yet returned from U.S.A.. The one Audrey bought was one we resold for a client, it was that lovely one of the tall Willow-tree on the left and view of the sea over Downs. She said she would lend it, also she was sure Percy would lend from his collection too;" relating results of the accountant's inquiry into the 'Russell Square' sale; asking if they could close out an old account "as it complicates everything" and enclosing a check for £50 "on account as some of the instalment payers are settling up."
