Summary
Concerning a mix-up with a painting; saying "This is indeed a disconcerting piece of news! and the odd thing is I had got it into my head that the Sea Wall came from Tooth's for the Leicester Show. But it must be the one - as you say 'bought by you some while ago - I'm fearfully sorry it was quite an unwitting fraud! Now what happens? do you want the drawing back? I know who bought it. Or do you want some money at once (God forbid) or shall I give you a drawing in place of the Sea Wall - Let me know. Yes, I haven't forgotten the Urn Burial drawings - in fact I have them with me for the express purpose of carrying them out here. and now, in the face of your disconcerting news & kindly reminder about them I have put them on the drawing board & will get to work at once. I have also several new small drawings coming along. I hope to be doubly welcome the next time I look in - Haven't you sold Dungeness yet? You are slow."
