Summary
Expressing his gratitude for her letter and for hearing from her so soon [after her husband's death]; saying he would "be glad indeed to put the photograph in the book. I know that his friends will value it. I have never seen a photograph of him that I really liked although Freeman showed me one today, taken I think he said by your boy, in uniform which is like him as I last saw him. Adcock is putting one in the next Bookman by Hoppé;" saying he had just received a "very beautiful letter from W.H. Hudson" whom he had written to inform him of Edward Thomas' death; "Hudson said how he loved Edward as I believe did all his friends; referring to letters recently published in the Times and the Literary Supplement; adding that freeman thought that Squire would be very glad to print one or two poems from the book in the New Statesman if you would like it."
