Summary
Writing that she doesn't think his musical settings fit her verses: "The words are generally so very simple, and there is something not so simple in your treatment"; telling him to "go ahead with" her "Beyond the Rainbow" because she "like[s] a lot of the atmosphere" of that piece; noting, "My feeling about these simple childish things is that I want them to be easy and delightful for anybody to sing -- kids and all"; apologizing for writing "gauchely," and observing that she has "hardly time to write letters at all, because of illness in the home & servant shortage."
