Summary
Telling him he had a visit from Miss Reynolds with whom he discussed his translation; saying "It is far better than I can do, though I don't like it as much as Cameron's in a recent number of P.[oetry] R[eview]. He is generally much braver in attack than you. All the same I feel in my bones that the sarcastic tone has to be kept and such a line as 'Christ, O Christ, eternel voleur des energies' must be expressed by a single line and not a word must be cut. Your version to me is like a wallpaper design made out of the poem, but it might be preferred to something nearer the caustic asperity of the French. I am as well as could be expected."
