A copy of Burke's will in either his hand or Walker King's. Burke includes the following signed note at the end of the document: "This will and codicil are intended as a sort of duplicates, lest my former should be mislaid or lost. My friend Dr. King has been so good as to copy it. Edm Burke."
Part of a collection of letters related to Edmund Burke; see main record for MA 693 for more information.
Burke's will covers the first two pages, with his signature, signatures of witnesses, and a seal appearing at the top of p. [3]. He then adds a two-page codicil, with his signature, witnesses' signatures, and another seal appearing on p. [4]. Burke died in July 1797 after a prolonged illness.
