Summary
Apologizing because his son Walter did not have time to visit Richardson during his trip to London; complaining about the cost of outfitting his son as "a young officer of the hussars"; explaining that he did not come to London because his "last attack was of so dreadful a nature" that he wishes "to be quite insured against another ... before leaving home for any length of time"; sending a drawing of his arms, an impression of his seal, and a "small note of [his] descent by [his] father and paternal grandfather"; also sending a "copy of the Haliburton MS." and "a copy of a little amateur book Carey's poems" (none of these enclosed items is still with this letter).
