Summary
Telling him that he is "much gratified by the sight of the portrait of Robert Burns"; explaining that he only saw Burns once, but he "was so remarkable a man that his features remain impressed on [his] mind as [if he] had seen him only yesterday"; noting that he will "accept of the inscription which ... the proprietors intend putting to the engraving as a great honour."
