Summary
Reporting that "the Enemy were still at Douxsaints on the 28th ulto - a circumstance equally vexatious and astonishing for the accounts that I received of their Return by three different channels appeared to me conclusive -- one of my informants in particular pretended to have seen the Guide of the British Cavalry. I have ordered the troops to be in readiness for marching and within the mean time endeavor to gain more intelligence." .
