Summary
Explaining that he has not written to him because he is in poor health; mentioning the manuscript of "the History of the last four Years &c" that he gave to Lord Orrery to take to Doctor [William] King in Oxford for publication, and noting that he has heard nothing from King about receiving the manuscript; asking him to call on Dr. King to "desire he would explain himself concerning his long Silence, and his very slow or no proceedings in a point which [Swift has] so much at heart for a hundred Reasons"; also asking him to report to [Alexander] Pope "the State of [his] health, and the Disposition of [his] Mind"; commenting on other acquaintances including Erasmus Lewis, Lord [Allen] Bathurst, and the D[uke] of Chandos [James Brydges].
