Summary
Replying to an attack on Hard Cash made by Dr. John Stevenson Bushnan. Bushnan, resident physician at Laverstock House Asylum in Salisbury, Wiltshire, argued in a letter to The Daily News that Reade's example of a sane person being held in an asylum against his will was impossible. Here Reade lays out examples from his experience that prove there are similar abuses in British asylums.
