Acknowledging the payment for the early sheets of a 'French Country Family' and adding that his wife will send the £50 to Madame Guizot de Witt; confirming that they will have the early sheets of his wife's new story "which will extend to six numbers of Macmillan's Magazine;" informing him that he is sending, via Sampson Low, 'the early sheets & blocks of the May installment of 'The Woman's Kingdom' and he will do his best to "hurry on the rest."
