Summary
Sending him a rough draft of the scheme for the size of her books and saying "My books planned are - an original tale by myself, to begin with -- this beautiful little tale of Madame Guizot de Witt's - which I have translated - a New England story by an American niece of Mary Howitt's - probably another by my cousin Miss Craik - & so on;" discussing the payment arrangement for herself and all of the authors; adding that it is her belief that "if carefully, & well & liberally conducted - such a scheme might secure a large sale for many years - to the benefit of both author & publisher & it has this advantage - you can feel your way step by step - & book by book - so as to stop at any time."
