Summary
Saying she has been ill and therefore "you will have no novel of mine this year;" suggesting that he might consider publishing a new novel by Jane Winnard Hooper whose children's books have been published by Addey & Cundall; saying she has been told by Mrs. Hooper that "she has just finished a Novel. The subject is peculiar & striking -- in fact I think the book will likely be a great success. What say you to it - on the usual terms of first novels by known periodical writers - viz. £150 - I think Mrs. Hooper would be satisfied with that & you will not get such an original subject or such a good novel in a hurry;" asking him to let her know and if he accepts it she will deliver the manuscript.
