Telling him about "a most encouraging example of a good man, who at the age of 76 was visited by a tremendous dropsy, call'd by his apothecary incurable; but his chearful temper, with due care, enabled him to triumph so completely over the alarming malady, that he enjoyed a dozen years of excellent health after his cure"; suggesting various treatments including "strong horseradish tea with mustard seed" and "daily perseverance in the use of the brush"; commenting on the "effect of medical electricity" on dropsy; sending love to "all [his] domestic circle."
