Summary
Reporting that he is asking his friends to subscribe to Cowper's translation of Homer; noting that some people he is asking are "of the higher rank," and having their names attached to the book "might make the work fashionable"; describing his success in convincing his brother Howard to subscribe, and advising Cowper to tell his bookseller to wait on Howard in London with his "two former volumes of poems handsomely bound as a present" to show Howard that Cowper remembers him from their school days; mentioning that Mr. Frederick Vane has said he will subscribe if the bookseller brings the proposals to his home.
