Summary
Being a letter in three parts, the first and last written by Madame de Sévigné and a brief paragraph in the middle written by Jean Corbinelli; relating in detail the gifts bestowed upon King James II by King Louis XIV on the departure of King James II for Ireland; saying that King Louis XIV told King James II that he did not wish to ever see him again but if he should return to France he would find him as he left him; commenting that she felt that nothing was better said nor more just and that the generosity, magnificence and magnanimity have never been exercised better than they were by the King; expressing her hope that the Irish war will divert the Prince of Orange from descending on their coast; saying she would like very much to hear his views; commenting on her relationship to Jean Corbinelli; continuing with Jean Corbinelli commenting briefly on his relationship with Madame de Sévigné; concluding with Madame de Sévigné sending her regards to his wife.
