Summary
Beginning the letter with a note from Corbinelli concerning his displeasure at being left out of the will of the Marquis de Vardes; saying he was told that the Marquis would never forgive him for giving him his son-in-law and he replied that his son-in-law would never forgive him for giving him such a father-in-law; adding that he sent word to the Marquis that he would not see him again until he asked for his pardon but he died before they spoke again; referring to the talk of disputing the gift to Mme. D'[Aumelas] but saying that in his opinion, it will not succeed; continuing with the second half of the letter written by Madame de Sévigné; discussing the departure of Madame D'Aumelas just before the death of the Marquis de Vardes and her character; .
