Summary
Reporting that he is trying to "push forward these Proposals of [his] as fast as possible"; mentioning Bagot's brother Richard [Howard] and thanking him for subscribing to his forthcoming translation of Homer's Iliad; informing him that "Dr. Matty of the Museum" has read his newest poem, The Task, and "designs ... to give his opinion of it in his next Monthly Review" and to mention that he is working on a translation of Homer; telling him that he sent his Task to [Cyril] Jackson, Dean of Christ Church at Oxford, and is fearful of what Jackson and others will think of his work; sending him "some nonsense verses."
