Summary
Sending an update of his travels (he has "traversed the greatest part of Greece [and] resided ten weeks at Athens" and is now "on the Asiatic side on [his] way to Constantinople"); mentioning a visit to the ruins of Ephesus; explaining that he has not heard from Mr. Hanson and is in need of remittances to continue his travels, whether he proceeds or returns; acknowledging that he is not writing frequently: "the farther I go the more my laziness increases, and my aversion to letter writing becomes more confirmed"; complaining that Fletcher (his valet) is "a poor creature, indeed English servants are detestable travellers"; noting that his "friend [John Cam] Hobhouse scribbles incessantly."
