Reporting that the past week has brought her "a son and a grandson"; discussing the arrival of Mr. Henry, the Swiss mountaineer who is marrying her daughter; noting that her daughter-in-law was "really ill," but she hopes to be able to leave her "well and nursing her little charge" soon; asking him to tell her whether she can expect to see him in Ayrshire at her return.
