Telling him that she won't be able to write for "some weeks" because Mr. Kerr [the postmaster who franks letters for her] will be absent; reporting on a recent fever that "left [her] lame of one foot"; expressing concern that he has not received the letter and book sent by her son Anthony; asking him not to mention her illness.
