Summary
Thanking him for the book he sent her; asking him to "receive from Mr. [William] Creech and pay for 45 volumes" and to send them to various people; sending him £15 to cover the expense of her request; instructing him write to her to say whether he can fulfill her request; noting that his mention of his mother persuaded her that he should not join the army; asking whether he has met [Adam] Smith and how he likes him.
