The letter is not dated however the date range attributed to the letter (1843-1879) is from the date of first publication of Martin Chuzzlewit to the death of Mr. Delane.

Summary
Quoting a passage on "Mr. Pecksniff's Horse" from Martin Chuzzlewit by Charles Dickens; adding in a postscript to Miss Northcote that he hoped she would "see the resemblance between your orator and the horse and that it does not depend entirely on the imagination of your faithful servant."
