Reporting that her "acquaintances in Panthemont complain excessively about [her] inattention to them"; noting that "there has been a riot in Paris in which M. de Castrie's household furniture was destroyed"; discussing his efforts at unpacking his things from Paris and telling her that he has books "to present to Mr. Randolph"; complaining about the cold in Philadelphia and wishing "for some stockings of cotton and hair's fur knit together"; asking her to get someone to knit the stockings, and requesting that they be "very large."
