Concerning an upcoming visit to Monticello; saying "tho' it is yet more than a month before I can set out for the same destination, yet I begin with pleasure to make memorandums, lay by what is to be carried there &c &c. for the pleasure of thinking of it, of looking forward to the moment when we shall all be there together;" commenting on the damage from a hailstorm; discussing the harvest and offering the use of his threshing machine to her husband.
