Summary
A collection of bound notebooks containing some of the papers of Henry Wheaton. Included are scrapbooks of newspaper clippings; notebooks of autobiographical notes, journal entries, legal notes, and travel notes; notebooks about decisions in the Marine Court in New York City; a series of 12 notebooks (MA 995.123-134) of Wheaton's notes on Supreme Court decisions, published as Reports of Cases Argued and Adjudged in the Supreme Court of the United States (New York and Philadelphia, 1816-1827); a two-volume autograph manuscript of Wheaton's History of Denmark and Norway (MA 955.135-136), published by Wheaton and Andrew Crichton as Scandanavia, Ancient and Modern; being a History of Denmark, Sweden and Norway (Edinburgh: Oliver & Boyd, 1838); and two volumes of social letters and printed invitations and programs (MA 995.137-138).
