Sending him a letter received by Mr. Wells that was "so insolent" that she directed Wells to return it and have the writer contact Col Airey instead; giving him directions about how to handle the letter she expects he will receive from an attorney (regarding a florist's bill that is past due); asking him to send a note on her behalf declining an invitation to a party because they will be out of town.
