Speaking critically of General John Adair and accusing him of cowardice; mentioning that he would like to meet with Lewis to discuss "the feelings & intention of Mr. Munroe [James Monroe?] as it respects my order of the 22nd of April"; alluding to the death of his nephew, Major John Hutchings; complaining that [Adair] would "shield himself under the duelling laws" if Jackson challenged him to a duel.
