Summary
Telling him that he received his letter "enclosing by command of the Prince of Wales a petition from Mrs. Broadhurst"; explaining that while he would like "to obey His Royal Highness's commands," he cannot give Mrs. Broadhurst the appointment she solicits; noting that she "cannot be qualified" for the position she seeks; emphasizing that Mrs. Broadhurst's "apprehensions that some enemy of her husband is endeavouring to deprive him of his situation" are "totally without foundation."
