Summary
Replying to his letter; saying "The first article I give up and with little Reluctance if It can only be reduced to a subordinate Rank the Place which good Sense would [illegible] it if That were not overborn by the Vanity of one and the Impatience of the other. So managed it might go on till the Caprice of Fortune dispenses it and do no mischief in the mean Time; The second is of infinitely more Importance so that [illegible] properly cultivated publick Respect and perhaps even adoration may be turned to advantage of which would rebound elsewhere."
