Notes
Part of a collection of letters from Edward, Duke of Kent to General Wetherall. Letters have been described individually in separate catalog records; see collection-level record for more information.
The letter is undated however the Duke of Kent was promoted to Lieutenant General in January 1796 and commanded the forces in Nova Scotia until 1800; he refers to both of those titles in this letter; it is possible that the letter was written after he returned to England in 1800; there is also no place of writing indicated but he gives instructions to send certain things addressed to him to the War Office which might indicate he was writing from London.
