Summary
Expressing his frustration and disappointment at his personal & professional situation despite the fact that the restrictions have been lifted on the Prince Regent; discussing Regimental business and relating news of appointments and promotions; relating news of the death of his Godson, Edward; commenting on a report that the King had recovered saying it "was in no respect founded on fact, for he still goes on in the same deplorable State of mental derangement altho' his Bodily health continues good & I fear there is now almost a certainty of the melancholy prospect of his remaining in the same degraded State until it may be the will of Providence to close his mortal career;" saying he will try to help him with the Duke of York in his application to be President of Bengal; continuing to relate news of other members of the Regiment.
