Thanking him for his letter and "his exertions, which I sincerely hope may produce the desired effect, and that too, in time to obtain relief for me previous to the 15th of January, as without it, I shall be most painfully and awkwardly situated, when that period arrives;" discussing accommodations for a visitor from Halifax who will stay at Kensington Palace; thanking him for standing in for him at a christening and instructing him to deliver a gift of ten guineas.
