Expressing concern for the safety of ships in a convoy to England; fearing bad weather and French privateers; discussing, at length, the disposition of carriages, horses and stores that remain in Halifax; adding "that nothing has as yet been done with regard to my establishment & that I am to be stationed as 2nd in Command in the only District which on acc't of the Commander in Chief of it, I had desired not to be placed; saying that "the business of your Son has been arranged..."
