Summary
Saying he has heard from Sir Charles Grey that with the capture of Guadeloupe the campaign has ended; saying that he expects to return to Halifax but if there are no new campaigns he would like to return to England; informing Wetherall that he will be returning to England to recover from his wounds and with a recommendation for a promotion; discussing future assignments; asking him to call on Madame Laurent when he is in London; discussing, in detail, his needs for a Valet and a Footman and providing detailed qualifications for the positions; giving an order for two Uniform coats to be made with detailed specifications as to fabric and cut; adding, in a postscript, directions for the allocation of his Prize money from the campaign, a portion of which he allocates to Madame Laurent and another to the payment of his debts.
