Summary
Thanking him for his letter and saying he has had a letter from Sir William Fawcett to whom he had written about his application to the King to go with his Regiment to North America; inviting Wetherall to sail with his Regiment to North America and spend the winter with him in Quebec; commenting on the condition of his Regiment and their need for further training; saying that they are "in hourly expectation of Sir Robert Boyd & am preparing to receive him precisely in the same manner as I was when I landed, but very possibly we may still have some time to wait before the old Gentleman arrives;" telling him that he is "not a single man at present the family having been increased the day before yesterday by the long expected arrival from Marseilles."
