The note is signed with the initials "WM."
The recipient is not identified, however it is possible it was Cobden-Sanderson from the reference to Walker [Emery] who would later be Cobden-Sanderson's partner in the Doves Bindery. Cobden-Sanderson was the binder for the Kelmscott Chaucer.
The note is not dated, however a penciled note on the verso is "Jan 14 1895."
