Summary
Concerning the unanimous election of Bishop Perry to the Episcopate of Nova Scotia; saying that when he arrived at the Synod meeting, he was called in to "say what I could about the probability of your accepting;" saying that he understood him to say privately that he discouraged the proposal on the grounds that the Bishops of the Church would not release him to a British Church but understanding him to say "distinctly yes you would;" adding that he told the Synod that he disclaimed any responsibility in the matter and saying that he could not represent him in the matter; saying that "You were chosen unanimously. Now my dear Bp as I feel on the subject, you ought to accept."
