Year is based on Walker's reference to sailing with Perry in MA 375.2 (dated Feb. 16, 1888) and the subsequent references in this letter to sending "passage money" and "crossing the ocean with" Perry.

Sending him a check for $25 towards his passage money; telling him that he is leaving for Washington but will not be able to stop in Davenport because he has "several matters, in connexion with our Indians, to arrange at Washington which will take much time."
