The year of writing is not provided, however, there was a meeting of the Committee on Canons on October 17, 1890 in Pittsburgh; it appears that this is a follow-up letter to one dated September 22, 1890 (MA 374.46) in which Bishop McLaren says he is not sure if he will be able to attend the meeting in Pittsburgh.
