Summary
Commenting on the state of the church in Dresden under Rev. John P. Peters; relating, confidentially, news of the deposed Bishop of Michigan; saying "...what will surprise you , viz. that Bishop Dudley while in Dresden lately, exchanged calls with the deposed Bishop of Michigan & listened without remonstrance to his abusive language against all the Bishops who took part in the action against him & especially against me for instructing Dr. [illegible] while rector at Dresden not to recognize him in any way as a clergyman of the Church. McCoskry's residence there is a serious danger. In the services he takes the foremost seat & responds in a way to attract every stranger's attention & to cause the inquiry 'who's that?' If Rev. Mr. Peters leaves, some clergyman of private fortune as well as of good character & competent for the work will have to be found to take the place.
