Summary
Explaining his reasons for declining the Episcopate of Georgia; quoting from a letter that he sent to the Bishop of Georgia; saying that he believes he needs to stay in New Orleans; saying that the "Parish of wh. I am Rector, is large & flourishing! but its growth has been very rapid & is mainly due to accessions from a class never before brought into contact with the Ch., it is therefore unsettled & needs organization."
