Summary
Acknowledging receipt of notification of his election by the House of Bishops to be a Missionary Bishop; saying "I am young--I am inexperienced, I am weak & immature, I am, it seems to me, unfit & unworthy, unfit to do such responsible work, unworthy of so great dignity. But I cannot, as God knoweth, see my way clear to say I will not go. Therefore, unfit & unworthy as I am, my answer must be, I will go where the Church says it is my duty to go;" responding to the request for his suggestions as to the details of his consecration, saying he would like Bishop Potter to be one of his consecrators and would like the consecration to be in either New York or Albany.
