The arrangement of the collection is by Bishops in the order of their consecration and chronological within their portion of the collection. Letters in this collection have been described individually in separate catalog records; see collection-level record for more information.
The recipient is not provided, however, it is possible it was Lewis J. Cist who wrote to each Bishop asking for the details of their consecration; the previous letter in this collection (MA 370.99) also provides the details of Bishop Lay's consecration and the identity of the recipient was also not provided.
Written on the stationery of the "House of Bishops, / Philadelphia."
