Summary
Telling him that he will be missing a meeting of Bishops in New York because of an "increase of the cholera" in Kansas; noting that he is not sure whether it is proper for him to express his views before the House of Bishops if he is not there in person; explaining that he sent a letter to Bishop [Charles Pettit] McIlvaine containing his opinions, and if McIlvaine "deems them worthy to be communicted to the Presiding Bishop or to the House, he may do so."
