Summary
Telling him that he hopes to use his influence to bring the Diocese of Alabama "into its former relations with" the General Convention of the Church in the U.S.; complaining that the Southern bishops are being asked to yield to secular authority in Church matters; stressing the important of Diocesan independence; mentioning other problems he sees with bringing together the two Church factions; complaining about how the Diocese of Alabama, and his name in particular, were introduced into debate at the General Convention.
